Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Review Roundup

The Nintendo Switch may have launched less than a year ago, but the hybrid console has already become home to some of Nintendo's most ambitious and acclaimed titles. The company's last major release for the system this year, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, launches on December 1, and like Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, it's a massive and lengthy adventure. Despite the number in its title, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 isn't a direct follow-up to the original Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii, but it shares many similarities with the previous two Xenoblade titles. The game is set in Alrest, a swirling sea of clouds where all life forms live atop the backs of colossal beings known as Titans. The game follows the story of Rex, a Driver who is capable of summoning living weapons called Blades. Together with a Blade named Pyra, he journeys across Alrest in search of the World Tree, where the fabled paradise Elysium is said to rest. Ahead ...

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Revealed

After reports of its existence leaked ahead of time, we have official confirmation that Pokemon GO developer Niantic has partnered with Warner Bros. to create an Augmented Reality game based on The Boy Who Lived called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Much like its Pokemon counterpart, players will explore real-world locations while playing the game to carve out their own unique adventures.  You'll be able to learn and cast spells and discover mysterious artifacts as you encounter legendary beasts who will likely function similarly to Legendary Raid battles in Pokemon GO. The game will also feature iconic characters from the mainline story, though what role they will play remains undetermined. "With this game, we are allowing the passionate, worldwide fan base to experience J.K. Rowling’s deeply powerful and imaginative universe in a new, truly immersive way," said Warner Bros. President, David Haddad. "It is wonderful to have Niantic’s remarkable augmented...

Pokemon Go: Raids Have New Bosses

Pokemon Go has received a number of big updates over the past year, but one of the most notable changes was the introduction of Raid Battles. Beginning this past June, players could team up with friends to battle against powerful boss Pokemon at Gyms. Aside from appearances by new Legendary Pokemon, however, Raids have featured the same list of bosses since the feature first rolled out back in summer--until now. Pokemon Go developer Niantic has refreshed the list of boss Pokemon players can encounter in Raid Battles. Surprisingly, Niantic didn't advertise the change in advance of its implementation; instead, the developer quietly rolled it out over the past weekend. Among the changes Niantic has made to Raids are their duration. Before, players would have a full hour to complete a Raid after the boss Pokemon hatched; now, the Raid Battle will last for 45 minutes. As far as new Pokemon go, Metapod is now a tier-1 Raid Boss, while Ivysaur, Charmeleon, and Wartortle have...
